About Us

Hi everyone!

My name is Lilly Tasker and I am the founder of Lil Floral Cove. I am a Cert lll Qualified Florist, Wedding Planner, Coordinator and Event Manager! I have been in the wedding industry for a few years and have loved every second of it! We also create floral arrangements for every occasion through the week for peoples homes.

Let's talk about Lil Floral Cove! I have had a lot of people ask why I chose to name my business Lil Floral Cove. When trying to decide what to call my business I struggles to find something that wasn't basic or already used. I wanted my name to be sentimental to me and fit the industries we are in! Here is why I chose Lil Floral Cove:

'Lil' - As my name is Lilly it was hard to find something that clicked and also felt like me, this is why I shortened to 'Lil' (my nickname) and also meaning 'little' as we operate from a studio which also fits in with 'cove' at the end of our name!

'Floral' - I wanted to bring elegance to my name and in my every day work! This is why I chose to use 'floral' instead of flower as I felt it fits the florist, planning, coordinating and managing side of our business.

'Cove' - I moved up to Nelson Bay for 6 months to work my dream job with an amazing team of florists! These girls taught me everything I know about being a florist, business owner and a good boss to workers. I wanted to bring this coastal touch into my business here in the Southern Highlands!

Floristry

When starting my own business in floristry, I wanted to bring my own modern approach to the industry and become well recognised for my unique creativity here in the Southern Highlands. I love being a florist because we get the beautiful job of creating statements for other people to enjoy! Wheather it's for a wedding, event or just for someone's home, every part of surprising people with our creativity is the best feeling in the world!

I am Cert lll qualified and got fast tracked 2 qualifications in just 1 year! During my year at tafe I was selected by the head of floristry to compete in the World Skills Regional Competition in Sydney. I had to showcase my creativity as a florist creating different arrangements for different briefs within a timeframe. I came home the Regional World Skills Winner! I then represented the Illawarra in Queensland for the National World Skills Competition in June 2025 where I placed 6th in Australia. In this WorldSkills competition I competed 3 days in a row completing 8 different modules all together. It was such an amazing experience being able to bring my creativity to life through floristry in a big crowd of flower lovers and highly experienced judges. You can find every module I created in our websites gallery!

My passion for floristry came at the young age of 14 where I was helping a local florist with weddings and events. Helping this florist really opened my eyes to the world of floristry and have been in love with the industry ever since! Working in Nelson Bay I was  creating florals for high end corporate events and weddings in the most beautiful locations. I learnt a lot about the wedding and high end corporate side of floristry which I absolutely loved creating so many different floral designs for each and every event.

Since starting my own business my love and passion for flowers have turned into me growing my own flowers! My Grandparents have dedicated a piece of their land for me to start growing my own garden. I aim to use these home grown flowers in future bouquets. I started off growing my favourite flowers called Dahlias which some of you may have already received in bunches.

One of our wedding was featured in the Highlife magazine! Here is a photo attached below, along with a bridal item we created a World Skills Nationals and one of my favourite bouquets! If you would like to see more florals that Lil Floral Cove has created for Events, Weddings, Corporate Jobs and World Skills have a look at our gallery!

Thank you for trusting us to be your florist!

Wedding Planning & Coordinating

When starting our Wedding planning & Coordinating side of Lil Floral Cove we wanted to expand our knowledge, skills and business in the Wedding and Events industry. When having consultations with Brides and Grooms for their wedding florals, I noticed that a lot of these couples didn't have a lot of time on their hands and had family members help organise the last bits and pieces for their wedding day.

Seeing the stress and lack of time that these couples had, encouraged me to complete my course in Wedding Planning, Coordinating and Events Managing. When receiving feedback from these couples after their wedding day, a lot of the feedback was about how organised, experienced and helpful I was in the planning process and on their wedding day. This is why I felt like completing this course was the perfect option for my business and other couples enquiring with us!

I love being organised, prepared and always on time! Writing schedules, creating portfolios, organising consultations months in advance is already something I do for couples enquiring for their wedding florals. I will know every little detail and make sure your day runs perfectly, stress free and most importantly add sentimental values for you to cherish and remember forever.

Thank you for trusting Lil Floral Cove to be apart of the big moments in life. We absolutely love creating statements and memorable moments for all of our customers! I hope to hear from you soon!
